Synergy NU Bulldogs hailed as champions in the 2019 Alabang Slo-Pitch League
A CLUTCH WIN - The Synergy NU Bulldogs triumphed over the top-seed Base Invaders in the one-day tourney of the 2019 Alabang Slo-Pitch League last December 8 at the Alabang Country Club.
The Base Invaders were undefeated at the end of the eliminations with a 3-0 win-loss record. The Synergy NU Bulldogs came second with a 2-1 win-loss record, followed by P'Cali Sports and Kiwi Blue with 1-2 and 0-3, respectively.

Battle for third
After the eliminations, the two teams, P'Cali Sports and Kiwi Blue battled it out in the field for the third place. With both teams desperate to earn trophies, the first inning ended at tie, 4-4. However, P'Cali dominated the rest of the 2nd and 3rd inning, getting 4-0, and 6-2. After a good run by P'Cali, both teams ended the 4th inning with no score, but had a tight match at the 5th inning with 3-2, and another zero for both teams in the last inning. P'Cali dominated the whole game with a 17-8 against Kiwi Blue, securing a podium finish in the tournament, while Kiwi Blue won as 3rd runner-up.
Championship
In the finals game, undefeated Base Invaders were then defeated by the Synergy NU Bulldogs after mastering their game plan. The Bulldogs started slow getting 0-3 against the Invaders in the 1st inning, but eventually sought their revenge in the 2nd inning, making a 6-0 merciless run. Following that inning, the Invaders tried to keep up but they only got 1-0 against the Bulldogs. The game died down and both teams were scoreless in the next two innings. In the 6th inning, the Invaders got another run and kept the match tight with 5-6, which angered the Bulldogs, who then swept the 7th inning with 7 points totalling with 13-5 against the Invaders and ultimately grabbing the crown.
At the end of the tournament, individual special awards were given to some outstanding players. P'Cali's Ferdinand Avila ended the tournament with the Most Run Batted In and Most Home Run. While Dustin Ellard of the Base Invaders won as Best Hitter. Marlon Caspillo from the Synergy NU Bulldog went home not just a champion but also as the Most Valuable Player and Best Pitcher.
